The Black & Decker RC436 16-Cup Rice Cooker, to me, is one of the best in its kind. Can you imagine purchasing a rice cooker with this capacity at such a bargain price, as well as carry along with it one of the most trusted names when it comes to kitchen appliances? Our family, which consists of 6 members, all love to eat rice. So we found that the Black & Decker RC436 16-Cup Rice Cooker would be perfect for us because of the amount of rice it is capable of cooking. Although it is an 8 cup rice cooker, when rice is cooked, it can produce 16 cups.

This easy-to-use rice cooker produces an almost perfect, restaurant type of rice, which we all enjoy since there is no longer the need to dine out just to have a nice meal. Not that we don’t enjoy going out, but with a family this size, expect our restaurant bill is a bit high. In short, it even helps us cut down our expenses.

This rice cooker is also quite simple to use. Just turn on the Black & Decker RC436, and wait until the rice has fully cooked. Once cooked, it automatically switches the indicator light from “cook” to “warm”, which maintains an ideal serving temperature without over-cooking the rice. So there is no need to open the lid just to check if the rice has cooked, because by doing that, since it keeps the heat and moisture locked in and avoid releasing steam.

Another feature that I loved about this rice cooker is its non-stick cooking pan. Cleaning up is a lot easier since we all know how much of a hassle it is to remove those burnt and sticky rice from the bottom of the pan. Not all rice cookers offer this feature, but I sure am glad that the Black & Decker RC436 Rice Cooker did.

Additional highlights include the steam vents and condensation catcher, its modern look design, as well as its side handles that makes it easy to carry around. This means that you can bring it along when you have picnics or any outdoor gatherings.

The Black & Decker RC866 20-Cup Rice Cooker and Steamer is a must have for those people who enjoy having gatherings with plenty of guests. The previous rice cooker I had was only able to handle 7 cups, and I’d usually run out of rice to serve my guests and then need to cook more.

There was nothing wrong with my previous cooker, except for its capacity since my family frequently comes over. I then decided to purchase a bigger rice cooker that is capable of producing a bigger amount, and I thought 20 should be perfect. I knew right away it wasn’t going to cause me any problems since its Black & Decker. Most of my kitchen appliances are Black & Decker, and you really can’t go wrong with a brand name you can trust. This company had been producing top quality products for a long time now.

As expected, It was not disappointing at all. In fact, it works a lot better than expected. Sure you can’t really expect a rice cooker to perform any other kitchen tasks, but using the Black & Decker RC866 20-Cup just seems so effortless. I thought it would probably differ even just a bit from my previous rice cooker, but operating this much bigger rice cooker is just as simple.

There was nothing really different about this cooker compared to all the rest. Although most rice cookers this size actually gets more complicated to use with all of its unnecessary functions. It still came with all of your basic utensils, like the steamer basket, a lid hanger, measuring cup, and the steamer basket.

The only feature that does not come standard with every rice cooker is the non-stick cooking pan. This of course works perfectly since there is no longer the need to scrub off the burnt or sticky rice left behind, which makes washing it seem effortless. The condensation catcher all helps in keeping your countertop dry and clean.

The best part about the Black & Decker 20-Cup Rice Cooker is its consistency in cooking the perfect rice. As long as you follow the indicated measurements correctly, then your rice should come out the way it is supposed to, since you can use this to cook almost any type of rice. Also, you can use this to whip up your favourite steamed fish and vegetables.

I recently started learning how to cook about 6 months ago. Chinese food is my favorite dish, so I figured why not try to learn how to cook rice. As I was saying, I decided to try to learn how to cook rice since it was probably the easiest, not to mention it goes with practically anything. So I bought my first rice cooker, but did not want to spend too much money on it. When I saw the Aroma ARC-737G 7-Cup Pot-Style Rice Cooker and Steamer, I thought it looked simple enough plus it also works as a steamer, so I purchased it. I know 7 cups seems too much, but the price difference from a smaller rice cooker wasn’t much, plus you never know when company might come by.

I knew it was easy to cook rice, but this made it seem so effortless. I just followed the rice and water measurements, turned it on, and just wait until it was done. While waiting for the rice to cook, I read the manual on how to steam simultaneously while cooking rice using my new Aroma Pot-Style Rice Cooker and Steamer.

It seemed easy enough so I searched through the internet for recipes that simply requires steaming. Surprisingly, I became more and more interested on learning how to cook, and it all began with purchasing this new kitchen appliance.

There is nothing spectacular with the rice cooker’s feature, just the basics. The automatic keep-warm feature, however, is a plus since you won’t have to worry about your rice getting cold and having to heat it in the microwave if in case you decide to eat at a later time.

The only thing I found wrong with the Aroma ARC-737G, which really isn’t even that big of a deal, is the burnt/sticky rice that gets left behind. I know non-stick cookers are available, but are they really worth paying that much more just because you have to do a little scrubbing while cleaning it up? Besides, it’s not like it happens often.

Also, I did notice that the steam builds a coating which tends to leave a mess on my countertop, but nothing a little dishtowel being placed under my Aroma ARC-737G 7-Cup Pot-Style Rice Cooker and Steamer can’t handle.

What I really love about the Aroma ARC-960SB 10-Cup Cool Touch Digital Programmable Rice Cooker is its large capacity. I have a pretty big family and we usually meet at my house for lunch on Sundays. My previous rice cooker only had a 7-cup capacity, and I would always have to cook 2 batches of rice to feed everyone.

I then decided to purchase a much larger rice cooker, but had doubts because I knew they usually cost a lot of money. When I came across the Aroma ARC-960SB 10-Cup Rice Cooker, I really had trouble deciding whether to purchase it or not. I just couldn’t believe how great of a deal it was for a rice cooker this big to cost this cheap. But since I really needed one, I just went ahead and purchased it.

I didn’t bother to read what features came with it until I got home. I was really surprised to find out it came with all these features, then I couldn’t wait to try it. It was just simply amazing how perfect the rice came out. Now I cook rice more often than usual.

The delay function works great. It is such a convenience to be able to set it to cook a couple of hours ahead of time, and not have to worry about it getting overcooked and burnt. This gives me a chance to do more of my kitchen tasks, while simply wait for the rice to cook. Sometimes I even set it in the morning before leaving to go to work, and come home to freshly cooked rice.

I truly am happy with the Aroma ARC-960SB Programmable Rice Cooker. The excess condensation is channelled away by the water reservoir, which doesn’t leave quite a mess. The only thing that disappointed me was the hassle of cleaning the cooker after use. Unlike most rice cooker where the lid is a separate piece and makes it easier to clean, this one is just the opposite.

I have been looking for a rice cooker that would work well with little to no supervision. I have found the Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5-1/2-Cup Rice Cooker to suit my needs perfectly. Fully automated, I can just turn it on and forget about the rice until I get hunger pangs.

An item of both form and function, this rice cooker is the best one I have ever owned. With regard to form, the stainless steel finish of this rice cooker makes it look so attractive and it goes well with the other appliances in the kitchen. You can see it is built with quality too.

It’s sturdy and has been working well from the time I bought it. It cooks perfect scrumptious rice. The induction heating feature on it makes sure that the rice gets cooked evenly. I have never had to deal with rice crust ever since I got the Zojirushi NP-HBC10 Rice Cooker.

Keeping rice warm is also this rice cooker’s forte. It can keep rice warm in normal mode for up to 12 hours and there is even an extension of up to 2 days. The most amazing thing about this characteristic is that even in prolonged periods of keeping warm, the rice never becomes dried out or crusty on the bottom.

It is easy to use and like I said, works well on its own. You don’t have to keep checking on the rice you’re cooking as its timer is very reliable although, if you would like to know how much time is left till the rice is ready to eat, you would only know about it five minutes before.

It is a pretty easy to clean piece of equipment and the nonstick coating of the rice bowl is true to its word. The inner pot does not have a handle that is not affected by the heat though. I do need to use a potholder to get the pot out, but that isn’t much of an inconvenience to me. The Zojirushi NP-HBC10 5-1/2-Cup is a bit costly but I guess with all the features it has, especially its set and forget automation, it’s really a best buy.

Basic rice cooking that is what the Oster 4731 Rice Cooker does. It is a user friendly appliance and is a pretty good size that takes up little space on the kitchen countertop. Unfortunately, those are the only good things about this product and even then, having a defective item taking up space, even if it just a small space in your kitchen is an annoying thought.

We got the Oster 4731 Rice Cooker as a wedding present and we’re so sorry not to have put it on the registry as something NOT to been given to us. We did read a few reviews about this item and they were not so good. We crossed our fingers that ours would be better than what other people had but sadly, it wasn’t.

Like the other people who made the reviews, we got a defective item too. I think the heating mechanism on our rice cooker got too hot. It always burnt the rice and later melted a part of the lever so it didn’t stay down when we pushed it. We had to insert a folded piece of paper in between the grove once the lever was pushed down to keep it on the cook setting.

It does signal the rice cooking is done with a beeping sound. But it beeps continuously and incessantly, we had to unplug it to stop the noise. There is no sense for the keep warm function then because this rice cooker won’t work unplugged.

I do know that the heating mechanism was the problem because after some uses, we did get a funky plastic smell on the rice that was cooked. Burnt and funny smelling, that is something that you would definitely not like to eat, it is such a waste. To top of this mountain of defects on this item, it does say that the rice pot is nonstick and dishwasher safe.

The nonstick coating doesn’t peal, yes, but after a few washings we got a discolored rice pot. I did get to thinking it was the dishwashing soap that we used but no other item we had became as discolored as this so most likely it is the rice pot itself.

On the bright side, we got the Oster 4731 as a gift. We didn’t use our own money to buy it. Nothing was wasted but the rice we tried to cook in it that came out burnt and odorous.

In purchasing the Zojirushi Micom 3-Cup Rice Cooker, I had a tough decision to make. It was kind of an expensive item but now, I am glad I bought it. It is a very good investment. Ever since I’ve had it, I never had to worry about getting perfect, delicious rice.

It is so consistent. The fuzzy logic technology it has adjusts temperature accordingly and I think the nonstick bowl it has contributes to the cooking of perfect rice too. It seems to distribute heat evenly so I never have to get burnt rice in the corners or in the middle part of the bowl.

The Zojirushi Micom Cooker is also of a good appearance and size. The stainless steel face of it matches all my kitchen appliances and it’s easy to find a place for it in a small kitchen counter and it doesn’t take up much space. A special feature this rice cooker has that I love so much is its retractable cord. Just like a vacuum cleaner cord, the cord doesn’t get into the way and makes the counter top look messy because after you’re done cooking, just retract the cord!

The Micom 3-Cup Rice Cooker has a spatula holder too. This is an interesting concept that other rice cooker makers haven’t thought about. Everything about this rice cooker is so space saving. It is also so easy to clean. No full effort wiping is needed to get the starchy white residue off of this rice cooker.

Another fantastic feature of this rice cooker is its timer feature. I can program it for rice to be cooked while I’m making my way home from work or am busy with chores and whatnot. It keeps rice warm and I can use the keep warm function for other viands too.

When rice is cooked, the Zojirushi Micom 3-Cup Rice Cooker plays a tune, the signal of good perfect rice. This rice cooker suits me perfectly as I do live alone but I recommend that if you are feeding a number of people, go buy a bigger one.

With the outer face made of stainless steel, it matches most of the kitchen appliances we have and it is of a sensible size that it doesn’t take too much space on the countertop but cooks enough rice for our three member family.

The most original thing about the Sunpentown SC-886 Rice Cooker is that its rice bowl is not coated with a nonstick coating or PTFE. This makes the rice it cooks so much healthier when compared with rice cooked with a rice cooker that has aluminum and this nonstick coating for as part of its materials.

It has an automatic shut off feature that kicks in when the rice is cooked and only if set to on is when the warmer setting is automatically switched to. This prevents rice from being overcooked, burnt or dried out. Lights indicate the cook or warmer mode so you would know what cycle it is at in rice cooking.

This rice cooker has settings for slow cooking too. The Sunpentown SC-886 3-Cup Rice Cooker can be used to make other steamed viands, soups and stews. We do need to add extra water when making soups and congee. Steaming actually keeps more nutrients in a vegetable and we always use the steaming function to cook the vegetables we love that go well with different sauces.

This item is so easy to clean too. Although the SC-886 3-Cup Stainless-Steel Rice Cooker has thought of putting in stay cool handles on its sides, please be careful when transporting this rice cooker. The handles do stay pretty cool but the whole outer covering, I guess because it is stainless steel, does get a bit hot after use, either for cooking rice or steaming vegetables.

What can I say about the Tiger JAG-B10U 5.5 cup Rice Cooker? It is just amazing. With regard to its appearance, it is of an attractive white color that looks so clean and spotless. With it being white, you can see exactly what needs wiping off and it is pretty easy to get dirt of the face of this rice cooker.

The rice bowl is made of a thick material and it is anti-stick so the rice never gets burnt in the bottom or on the sides of it. Even with the warmer on for prolonged periods of time, i have found that the Tiger JAG-B10U keeps rice of the same consistency as it was cooked. It does not burn the rice or make the rice dry.

This rice cooker is very easy to use. The instruction manual leaves much to be desired but once you get the hang of this item, you wouldn’t need the instruction manual anymore. It has a very helpful timer that you can preset for up to 12 hours just in case you are going to be very busy for the day and the LCD screen it has is so easy to read that I do look get the time from this rice cooker more now than I do the wall clock we have in the kitchen.

The size of this 5.5 cup Rice Cooker is of a reasonable size. It is neither too big that it’s hard to find a place for it in the kitchen and not too small either that it can support the rice eating capacity of my family. In addition, the cord can be retracted to keep it out of the way when not in use.

The package does contain the normal spatula and measuring cup and the measuring cup puts in water consistent with the markers on the rice cooking bowl. The Tiger JAG-B10U 5.5 cup Rice Cooker was a little costly, but eating well cooked rice makes it all worth it. I am so happy with this rice cooker.

The Zojirushi NHS-10 6-Cup Rice Cooker is a basic, no fuss rice cooker. It does what it is programmed to do, cook rice. It is just a normal kind of machine with its usual steaming tray, measuring cup and spatula.

This rice cooker is pretty easy to use. Just follow the instructions on the user’s manual to the letter minus the water measurements it dictates. It says it is a six-cup cooker and I suggest you do cook six cups of rice in it.

I find that cooking lesser amounts than that produces more steam starchy rice residue on the glass lid. The glass lid gets messy because it has a steam hole it in. Because of that steam hole, I do put a little more water in with the rice as it is cooking because it is wasted as steam coming out of that hole.

The outer part of this machine is pretty easy to clean. I can’t say that for the rice bowl and the lid though. The rice bowl is nonstick, don’t get me wrong. Although the keep warm function on the Zojirushi NHS-10 Rice Cooker is useful if you are steaming vegetables or keeping other viands warm, it does lead to burnt rice in the bottom part of the bowl and cleaning out the burnt rice parts is tedious. I do soak the lid and the rice bowl after cooking rice to get it really cleaned out.

The Zojirushi NHS-10 Rice Cooker saves time in cooking rice. Compared to cooking rice on a stove, it takes time to boil the water and get rice cooked. But if you have this rice cooker, make sure that you turn it off right after the rice is cooked. The only way to get this machine turned off is to unplug it.

The keep warm function kicks in automatically after rice cooking and it stays in keep warm I guess until all the rice in the bowl is burnt and even past that. This rice cooker is a bit more expensive than other “basic” rice cookers too.

The Krups RK7009 Rice Cooker is a very high tech item. It is easy to use and the digital display it has is very easy to read. You can choose any of the four cooking settings it has. You just have to set the rice cooker for cooking rice and put my favorite veggies in the steam basket along with it and dinner is served.

It can multitask and while it is cooking, I try to get a little rest. If I do fall asleep and get a little catnap, it doesn’t matter. The rice cooker will go on a warmer mode to keep the rice and viand I had in for steaming warm. As soon as I wake up, I can go to the kitchen and still get rice that is nice and warm and veggies that are not overcooked.

In the morning, I use this cooker for making oatmeal. Oatmeal is the best energy booster for me and this machine cooks a very tasty bowl of oatmeal. As soon as I get up, I can set it to make the oatmeal and just go about my morning rituals. By the time I am famished, the oatmeal is done to perfection.

The only problem I have with this is its hinged lid. When I do have friends over, it makes it difficult to get access to the rice from all angles. This machine is also very easy to clean and the nonstick inner pan it has can be taken out effortlessly and popped into the dishwasher.

Its exterior is made with stainless steel and black which is very beautiful and trendy. I highly recommend this rice cooker but if you will buy it, be prepared to shell out a little more but not to worry, it’s worth it.

Most appliances that are made nowadays can do more than it was meant to do. Let’s take the Oster 4724 20-Cup Rice Cooker for example, it cooks rice, steams vegetables, makes soups and to top it off, melts chocolate or cheese for a great fondue.

I got this as a house warming gift and I love it so much! Let’s lay it down straight, I love fondue. This rice cooker’s versatility is unbelievable, how’d have ever thought of adding a fondue making feature in a rice cooker? It takes away the bulk I have to deal with in getting a separate fondue set.

This machine is made of stainless steel and black that matches other appliances I have in my kitchen, it is so beautiful. The Oster 4724 Rice Cooker is also basically automatic. As soon as to push the lever down, you’re good to go. You don’t need to do anything else but go about your 15 to 30 minutes and it will handle everything about the cooking already. I did mention that you have to keep in mind the time because after the rice is cooked, the Oster Rice Cooker goes on automatic warming mode.

The rice it cooks is wonderful and with perfect consistency. I would like to say from this part on though that you should unplug the rice cooker. Yes, it has no off switch. Sometimes if this rice cooker is kept on too long, this appliance burns the rice on the bottom part of the bowl and this residue as you all know is a bit hard to clean off, although, generally this rice cooker is easy to clean.

I think then this “over vigilance” to heating is what makes the Oster 4724 a good fondue maker. All it would need is the long fondue skewer to make it a tried and true fondue set. I don’t mind using forks for dipping fruit or croutons into the fondue this rice cooker has made but if ever you use this appliance for this purpose do set aside your fork after dipping. It might slip into the fondue.

The newest addition to our home, the Zojirushi NS-TGC10 Micom 5-1/2-Cup Rice Cooker performs as well as its smaller version. Our family just got bigger with the addition of our grandparents moving in and we found that our normal three-cup rice cooker didn’t cook enough rice for the whole family.

We have been using the Zojirushi Micom 3-Cup Rice Cooker before and so we just bought a bigger version of it. Just like the smaller one, it consistently cooks delicious rice. The Zojirushi NS-TGC10 Micom Rice Cooker does have a quick cook setting but I’d rather use the normal rice cooking setting since the rice cooked with the quick cook setting is a bit dry.

This machine fits well on our kitchen counter too. I thought that buying a larger capacity rice cooker would be a problem for counter space but it wasn’t. It still is of a sturdy and compact size and we had no trouble finding a place for it.

I guess the retractable cord also helps on that front. That is the most special feature this rice cooker has I think. Usually with older models of rice cookers you have to detach the cord to keep it out of the way, but the Zojirushi NS-TGC10 Micom has thought of a better way of keeping the cord.

When the rice starts cooking, Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star plays and it also marks the end of the cooking process. It seems kind of juvenile but we like it. It signals to us that good rice is about to get cooked and that we are going to partake in a meal that includes quality rice.

This rice cooker is has easy to use cooking programs and the keep warm feature is great! Just in case we’re still not ready to eat or come home a bit late from work, an extended keep warm feature then kicks in to ensure that rice is always warm. The instruction manual mentions that it has a cake making program too.

This rice cooker is relatively easy to clean and the only part that needs more effort in cleaning is the inner lid. Although, the Zojirushi NS-TGC10 Micom 5-1/2-Cup Rice Cooker is a bit expensive, I think it is worth every penny I paid for.

I can set the rice cooker on delay cooking for up to nine hours so as I sleep or while I’m making my way home from work, the rice cooker already started cooking and I come home to rice cooked to perfection.

It does have three programs for cooking, it cooks rice, steams other food, and slow cooks. I have steamed up some dumplings before and they did come out pretty well too. In addition, with the steaming basket fitting into the rice cooker, it allows me to cook rice as well as steam some viand at the same time.

The Krups FDH212-76 rice cooker programs for cooking are also easy to set. It even has indicator lights, each with a different color so you know what cooking program the appliance is doing now. Right after the cook setting, this rice cooker automatically goes into a keep warm setting. So if I do get delayed, I rest easy thinking I still have something warm and fresh to eat.

The lid of this appliance also maintains a cool temperature even if it is cooking and it has a condensation collector to make sure that steam doesn’t escape the pot and make a mess on the rice cooker face or the counter. The way this rice cooker is made, it does save some space. You do have to wind the cord up under the rice cooker when you’re done using it.

I have not had my Sanyo ECJ-HC100S 10-Cup Micro-Computerized Rice Cooker for a long time but I just got so excited of everything that it offers it could do that I couldn’t help myself and tried them out. This product is wonderful! It is by far the smartest piece of technology I have in my kitchen. It is easy to use and the programmable timer is great. The LCD clock on its face is also so handy as it tells you how much time is left before he rice gets cooked.

When I opened the package up for the first time I got this rice cooker, I was so happy about having not just one but two nonstick bowls. The other is basically used if you want to slow cook some ingredients, make porridge or soups but it is a great addition nonetheless. I did notice that this second bowl is a little thinner than the basic rice cooking bowl but anyway, no matter. It even has a steaming basket for vegetables but I use this basket more for making pork dumplings that I love so much.

With all the dishes it could make, it saves me time and effort. A complete meal prepared in one shot. Whatever it cooks up, be it rice, soup, vegetables, or my favorite dumplings, they always come out perfectly. I did have to contend with a plastic odor that stuck to the food in the first few uses but that is gone now so I really am happy with the Sanyo ECJ-HC100S Rice Cooker.

The lid on the rice cooker however is a bit loose. I am not sure if that is only a defect with my rice cooker but it’s okay. This product is still a fantastic addition to my kitchen. I did notice that the Sanyo 10-Cup Micro-Computerized Rice Cooker locks in moisture in well inside its chamber and so I use less water with rice cooking now. It really is so smart; it makes the necessary adjustments when it comes to needed moisture by itself.

Finally, this rice cooker is so easy to clean. Wiping it down is enough. Anything that sticks to it is easy flicked off. The Sanyo ECJ-HC100S 10-Cup Micro-Computerized Rice Cooker really is so amazing.
