Rival Company History
The Rival Company has gained world renown in their manufacture and market of small household appliances as well as personal care appliances. They also are leaders in the field of producing commercial and industrial fans and ventilation equipment. The name of Rival gained popularity in the household in the early 1970s. They introduced their first product, the Crock Pot which is a slow cooker that changed the way dinners are made for the people of those times. They later diversified into products like can openers, meat slicers, toasters, ice cream makers then on to shower head massagers, ceiling fans, air purifiers etc.
The founding of Rival all happened in 1932 with the help of Henry J. Talge. He was born in Russia in 1892 and moved to Kansas in 1925 for a sales job from different locations of Chicago, Detroit, New York and Missouri. The firm of Rival started a die cast operation that then moved on to the manual citrus juicer then the Crock Pot in 1971 and the rest is history.
